Web Hosting

I get a lot of questions from my clients about Web Hosting.

It seems not everyone is clear about exactly what it is, and why you need it.

I like to make the simple analogy of a phone company, either cellular or a land-line. Most everyone understands the concept of paying for a phone service. With Web Hosting, it is very much the same.

Web Hosting” serves up your website from a Web Server (a computer whose sole purpose is to serve up websites) – The images, pages, databases and the content that you can change and update on a WordPress, or other Content Management Sites, are all housed on a Web Server by a Web Hosting company. The server hosts the website and its content, and serves that content up as data to anyone who requests the website yourwebsite.com.

Sort of like having a phone line, and the web address (URL) is the phone number. You have a number that people call, when they call, the phone company makes the connection and transfers the phone conversation voice data back an forth. It sort of the same thing. The website has to be housed somewhere (a Web Server from a Web Hosting company) and the data has to be served/transferred upon request. Someone punches in your web address, or clicks on a link to it, and the Web Hosting company serves up the Website and content to that person.

That is the “Web Hosting” service.

I hope this is helpful.

I lease a server in the United States and offer up Web Hosting to my clients for $15 per month. This is pretty much hassle free, as I usually create my clients Website, and upload and manage all of the content for them. This way they really don’t have to bother with anything – Because I am taking care of the whole package for them. Rather than having multiple companies and contacts to manage the various parts of their online business. They count on me, that everything is handled from my end, including Domain Name Registration and back up files.

If you are interested in any of these services from me, please feel free to contact me here.

Have a good day : )
